What is the role of your Assistant Governor?
- Meet with Governor and review expectations regarding club visits and attendance at Governor’s official visit
- Meet with and assist incoming club presidents before the beginning of their Rotary year to discuss the club’s goals and to review the Planning Guide for Effective Clubs
- Visit each club regularly with a minimum of one visit each quarter of the Rotary year. Meet with the Club President and other club leaders to discuss the club and resources available to them
- Assist club leaders in scheduling and planning for the Governor’s official visit
- Keep the Governor informed on the progress of the club and suggest ways to enhance Rotary development and address problems
- Encourage clubs to follow through on requests and recommendations of the Governor
- Monitor each club’s service projects
- Identify and encourage the development of future district leaders
- Attend the district team training seminar
- Attend the Presidents-elect Training Seminar and the District Training Assembly
- Advise the incoming Governor on possible district committee selections from the clubs
- Attend and actively promote attendance at the District Conference and other district meetings
- Participate in Rotary Foundation programs, annual and special giving events, and other special assignments as necessary
- As key members of the district leadership team, Assistant Governors should participate in the development of the incoming governor’s district goals
