Pam Baxter
Albany Rotary

Pam is the current DEI Chair of District 7190. She is a recently transferred member of Albany Rotary Club after serving her home club of Sharon Springs for 17 years. She has been named as DEI Chair for the newly forming district of CNY Rotary (July 1, 2024), formerly Districts 7150, 7170, 7190, serving over 3000 Rotarians. Pam has been an active member since joining Rotary in 2004 and has served in many roles. Her first Rotary role was as advisor to the district's first EarlyAct Club, in her son's school. The SSCS EarlyAct club brought the mindset of Service Above Self to 7-10 year olds. They successfully raised over $300 with Pennies for Polio and Purple Pinky Day.
Pam is a proud mom of 1+2. Son Jeremiah Tichy grew up in Rotary and was named a Paul Harris fellow at age 16 by Sharon Springs Rotary for the dedication and many hours of  service in his short life (proud mom moment).  Pam’s bonus kids include two exchange daughters Catherine Bubenzer-Paim (98-99 Brazil) and Laurette Cot (04-05 France). These bonds have enhanced Pam’s family exponentially, including bonus grands!
Professionally Pam works for NYS Department of Transportation in the Office of Diversity and Opportunity. Her department serves Women, Minority and Veteran owned business to help them be competitive in bidding state and federally funded jobs as well as facilitating workforce skills training in CDL, Highway Maintenance Worker, Service & Repair Mechanic and Transportation Construction Inspector programs.
“Rotary helped me find my passion and it is DEI. I welcome the hard conversations, that is how we learn to not just tolerate others but genuinely accept others. My goal is to create a better world through better humans, one conversation at a time.”
