Rotary District 7150

Dana Jerrard has been a Utica Rotarian since 1986, and in that time has held most of the offices available to a member. Board service in 1989 led to the first of three “sentences” as club Sergeant-at-Arms. From there he moved through the natural progression to club VP, PE, and, in 1994-95, club president under the leadership of DG Joe McCarthy. Immediately following this year as club president, Dana accepted the role editor of the club’s weekly newsletter, an assignment that he held for more than 20 years. This period also included 12 years as club secretary. On the district level, Dana has been newsletter editor, conference House of Friendship coordinator, directory publisher, master of ceremonies, and, most recently, Assistant Governor for Area 3 clubs. He is a Paul Harris Fellow +2, and a Rotary Foundation Benefactor.

Professionally, Dana spent 30 years at Vicks Lithograph in Yorkville before retiring in 2016. He currently works on a part-time basis at JAY-K Lumber in New Hartford and is also part of the local music community in groups as diverse as Classified, The Clef Dwellers, and the Utica Symphony.

Outside of Rotary, Dana was president of the Mohawk Valley Community College Foundation for 13 years, Founder and President of Senior Services of Utica, Pacesetter Campaign Chair for United Way, and President of Family Services of Utica. Currently, he is Alumni Class President for his graduating class at Cornell University.
